Why do I have to pay a deductible when the crash was not my fault?

When you purchase coverage for damage to your own car, you choose a deductible. It is the uninsured portion of a claim and the amount you pay before your insurance policy comes into effect to pay for the rest. Having your deductible is standard, if the other driver is insured by ICBC, your deductible may be waived or reimbursed. If the other driver is not insured by icbc you or your adjuster need to request reimbursement of your deductible from the other insurance company, if you are not at fault.

What should I do if I'm involved in an accident?

ICBC has a claim card that every motorist should have, which gives you in detail a step by step process of what to do after a collision.  This card fits in your insurance papers sleeve, and should be in every glove compartment.  The claim card is available in Cantonese and Punjabi as well.  If you need a copy come see us, or visit icbc.com

If I lend my car to a friend or family member, can they drive it, and are they insured?
Yes, as long as they have your permission to drive the vehicle.  Just remember, as a registered owner you are responsible legally if someone you lend your vehicle to has an at fault accident, and it could affect your discount.  You also need to make sure whoever you lend your car to has a valid drivers license, and that your vehicle is properly insured for them to drive.  For more information, please see you local insurance broker who can ensure you are insured properly.

What Our Loyal Customers Have To Say:

When you’re in an accident, the last thing you want is more hardship trying to get your car fixed. The team at ProFirst GETS that. They understand how important my car is to me, and quickly have me back behind the wheel.  Great service, great quality.

Mrs. K. Thind

My son-in-law recommended me to the ProFirst location in Abby.  Someone had hit-and-run my car in a parking lot, and I didn’t know where to go.  I looked up ICBC Car Shop Valet locations, and went it to the shop.  My car is as good as new, and I’m very happy!

Darshan Narang

Fast service, great communication.  These guys (and gals) had me driving my car in no time. I went into ProFirst after I noticed one of their Mazda 3 courtesy cars with the ICBC Valet Service logos. Received great service from the front desk and all the staff.
